Home Defense Phase I

This course teaches individual movement, search / passing techniques, how to stage for entries, how to pie corners, firearms position to minimize exposure and target indicators. Classroom study of room breakdowns, why we do not want to search and or do entrees alone, but if you have to, you will learn the skills necessary to increase the survivability for entering / pushing in and dominating a room, prioritizing threat sectors in different rooms, threat identification, escalation, neutralizing threats, firearms and ammunition selection, ballistic considerations for cover and engagement. Threats for training consist of 3 dimensional life size targets.

Requirements

You must be 18 years of age
SGC Staff Approval

Required Equipment

• Firearm: Marking cartridge converted handgun (provided) Or you may bring your Glock 19 or Beretta 92 (9mm only) and use SGC conversions
• A quality strong side holster (the holster must be rigid and stable allowing the firearm to be holstered with one hand) No cross draw, shoulder holsters, purses/fanny packs.
• 1 extra magazine and mag pouch
• Ammunition: 50 rounds of Man Marking cartridges (provided)
• Hearing & Eye Protection
• Comfortable & Appropriate Clothing
